Setting Up The CampRight Truck Tent

Each CampRight Truck Tent is designed to fit all makes and models of trucks within its category. This means that the tents will fit slightly tighter on the largest size truck and slightly looser on the smallest size truck within their category. For those tents that feel tight during initial installation, please use caution when tightening straps and placing poles into pole pockets.

Setting Up The Truck Tent

With the tailgate down, place the tent in your truck bed with the screen mesh side facing up. Slip the tailgate pocket and under-strap over the end of the tailgate (Fig 1).

Attach the black strap clips to the bottom outside lip of the truck and snug up the straps (Fig 2).

Run all 4 tent poles through their matching color coded sleeves (Fig 3).

Raise the two gray center poles first followed by the green and red poles. Insert the pole ends into their matching color coded pockets (Fig 4). Make sure the pole sleeves slide over the poles with no hang-ups.

Attach the inside green and red straps to your truck bed corner tie down points/cleats. Notice two straps clip to each cleat (Fig 5).

If your truck does not have tie down points, clip the two front red straps together (Fig 6) and run the two back green straps through the tailgate gap to attach to something below (Fig 7). In this case, the middle two red and green straps will hang free.

Adjust the inner and outer straps until the seam where the inner flap meets the tent runs along the top outside edge of your truck bed (Fig 8).

Using The Rain Fly

Use of the rain fly is optional. Position the rain fly over the tent. Place the cab access sleeve from the tent inside the cab access sleeve of the rain fly (Fig 9 & 10).

Attach the buckles and adjust their straps as necessary (Fig 11).

Setting Up The Avalanche Truck Tent

Lower the 60/40 split-folding rear bench seat and the Midgate®. Remove the rear window and the three piece tonneau cargo cover (Fig 12). Set up is exactly the same as the other truck tents with a few exceptions.

When laying out the tent in the bed of the Avalanche, it is necessary for you to place the stitched front edge of the tent (has two tie down strings sewn inside) into the gap between the plastic rear window frame and the metal roof (Fig 13). All (3) black strap clips from the front of the tent will attach in a row to the bottom of the Avalanche body (Fig 14).

If the Avalanche has a running board, attach the black strap clips down and around the running board to the truck's body (Fig 15) or attach them to the truck's wheel well.

When using the rain fly, the (2) black straps on the front of the rain fly should be secured inside the vehicle to the front cleats (Fig 16). The vehicle's doors shut over the straps.

CAUTION: Metal magnets are located inside the front of the rain fly to hold it in place. Be careful when placing them on the roof of your Avalanche.

After the initial set up of your tent, all the straps will be adjusted for your truck, ensuring that the next set up will go much quicker. When done camping, fold your clean and dry truck tent and put it into the easy loading storage bag. You'll be all set to camp again wherever your truck takes you!
